World March for Peace and Nonviolence

The World March will begin in New Zealand on October 2, 2009, the anniversary of the birth of Gandhi and declared by the United Nations International Day of Non-Violence. Completed in the Andes, in Punta de Vacas at the foot of Mount Aconcagua on January 2, 2010. During these 90 days pass by more than 90 countries and 100 cities on five continents.

PROPOSALS OF THE WORLD MARCH

To prevent future nuclear disaster must overcome violence today, demanding:
• nuclear disarmament worldwide,
• the immediate withdrawal of invading troops from the occupied territories
• progressive and proportional reduction of conventional weapons
• signing non-aggression treaty between countries and
• the resignation of governments to use war as a means to resolve conflicts.

The urgency is to create awareness for peace and disarmament. But we also need to raise awareness of nonviolence that rejects not only physical, but all forms of violence (economic, racial, psychological, religious, sexual, etc.).. This new sensibility can be installed and inspire the social structures, paving the way for future Universal Human Nation.
demand our right to live in peace and freedom. No one lives in freedom while living under threat.
The Global March is a call to all people to unite their efforts and take in hand the responsibility for changing the world, surpassing their personal violence, supporting their immediate environments and the extent of their influence.

PROGRESS IN ACTION

World March for Peace and Nonviolence is already inspiring various initiatives and activities that will multiply in the coming months. One of them, will be the symbolic start of a multicultural team that will travel across six continents. Start on 2 October (International Day of Non-Violence) in Wellington (New Zealand) and end on January 2, 2010 at the foot of Mount Aconcagua, Punta de Vacas (Argentina).
Throughout this time, in hundreds of cities will be marches, festivals, forums, conferences and other events to raise awareness of the urgency of Peace and Nonviolence. And worldwide campaigns for the March membership multiply this signal far beyond the imaginable.
For the first time ever an event of this magnitude is being set up at the initiative of the people.
The real strength of this March is born of the simple act of conscience who adheres to a worthy cause and share it with others.

S WE ARE ADHERE TO THE START!!

We decided to join this great march because we believe it is important to grow and spread the ideals of peace and nonviolence. Our association was precisely in that spirit and we are convinced that this need also experience many other people.
