New from Joseph Kosinski. In "Oblivion" to "Horizons"

The truth is that most of us "Tron: Legacy" We left a little cold. It was one of the most anticipated films of last year, but the most, and probably the end result was below expectations. However, the people of Walt Disney should be very happy with the work of director Joseph Kosinski (especially with the millions that the film has generated from ticket and merchandising, I guess) because they distribute their new project. It is a science fiction film based on a novel created by Kosinski himself that "Oblivion" will now be entitled "Horizons", tells us Collider.com.

Last summer, the publisher Radical Publishing announced that Disney had acquired the rights for a film adaptation of Oblivion, the science fiction novel by Joseph Kosinski created and written by Arvid Nelson (Rex Mundi). Besides himself Barry Levine, president of the editorial, I'll bet as a producer.

The first draft script was being written by Oscar winner William Monahan ("The Departed") but the latest news suggests that the project has undergone several changes. Input, as I said just above, the novel's title, Oblivion has been replaced by "Horizons." We do not know very well that motivated the decision, but considering that probably will be a success, it is possible who have wanted to break away from a title so well known for the Elder Scrolls series of games. But the changes have not ended here, with the new title comes also a new writer, Karl Gajdusek ("Trespass") which would be responsible for a spin nut over the text.

For all we know the argument is set in a post-apocalyptic future and destroyed by the radiation in which the remains of the human race trying to survive in a city above the clouds, to avoid contact with the "scavengers" that people the battered surface. To Jak, the protagonist, life will change completely when they found a mysterious woman who has suffered a plane crash in the planet's surface.

Well, let's say a display of originality is not, but sometimes the stories can always be the basis for great movies if other things are done well, there we have "Avatar" for example. What worries me is that "Tron: Legacy" and it seemed a bit hampered by the wearing of the Disney label. A bit more sugar than I should and I worry that this world so dark and gloomy you can not take full advantage because of it. We will see that this gets by with this new project Kosinski. Remember, from now, "Horizons."

For that you may be interested, the novel of 128 pages illustrated by Andrée Wallin, will be released next summer, and Random House will handle international distribution.
